Though they share symbolic heritage, the Yoruba tribal markings on each figure remain hidden from one another, a gesture that underscores the rupture of cultural continuity and mutual recognition inflicted by Christofascism. Here, the burlap functions as both a veil and a tether, connecting the figures even as it obscures them. Ultimately, this sculpture resists the closure of redemptive narratives, holding space instead for the unhealed wound.
