What Is Done Can Be Undone examines Black subjectivity through the relationship between captivity, material transformation, and bodily abjection. The chain cannot retain a fixed form under the heat of a fabricated pipe that mimics the room’s architecture. Its collapse records the conditions that produced it, making transformation inseparable from damage. The title frames Black subjectivity as produced through historical conditions rather than given or inevitable; what is constructed can also be dismantled.
