I was compelled to wear a badge upon turning eighteen, marking formal membership in an evangelical Christian cult. This functioned as a tool of compulsory belonging, enforcing conformity through a visual language of peace, faith, and authority. Enlarged and re- rendered in various materials, the symbol is removed from the body and forced into material confrontation. What was once worn as a mark of obedience has become a site of reckoning.
